National Nursing Home Week Day Two

Celebrating Makers, Mechanics, Carpenters, Woodworkers, and Faith

Day two of National Nursing Home Week was nothing short of fun. In the morning the elders gathered on the front porch to watch a demonstration from the maintenance team as they built a farm table and told stories about carpentry. The farm table being built will be raffled off over the next few weeks and all proceeds will benefit the Elder Quality of Life Fund. For lunch, the elders and stakeholders sat down at the table together to enjoy homemade fried chicken made by the wonderful dietary staff, mashed potatoes, green beans, and other tasty sides brought in by stakeholders. The afternoon consisted of a fun game of bingo, chapel, and finished off as elders gathered to enjoy live music.
