The last day of Nursing Home Week meant that the elders and stakeholders were returning home to the United States. We travelled to various destinations to learn about the culture, dine on elegant meals, and take a chance to try something new, but now our big trip had to come to a close.
The ending did not disappoint! The last day of Nursing Home Week meant that the elders and stakeholders were going to enjoy a beautiful Hawaiian destination and celebrate with a traditional luau.
During the early morning hours, the elders and stakeholders began dressing for the occasion by sporting Hawaiian hula skirts, leis, and participating in day events of Hawaiian games and dances.
The celebration continued into the night as elders, stakeholders, and families were invited to attend the full festivities. The local Snow Shack provided the home with frozen drinks, kids enjoyed activities such as inflatables and face painting, and everyone feasted on a full roasted pig, fruit, and traditional Hawaiian sides.
This week will be one that will never be forgotten! Happy Nursing Home Week!
