With spring in full swing and summer approaching the elders at Morgantown Care and Rehab Center are spending more and more time enjoying the outdoors. This past week, the elder’s began working in their garden, which consists of flowers and vegetables.
While the flowers provide a beautiful landscape for the outdoor seating areas, the food that is produced will be enjoyed by the elders during mealtimes and snacks.
This special garden also provides a break from traditional therapy for the therapists and elders.
It allows for opportunities to incorporate the exercises that are taught in therapy into an everyday situation that elders may find themselves participating in. We all look forward to watching the garden grow!
