On Tuesday, April 22nd, our home along with all our other Signature HealthCARE homes celebrated our annual Spring Break Day. What is Spring Break Day? It’s a one-day, fun-filled event for all residents, to get out and explore their inner youth.
At Morgantown Care and Rehab we had a busy day with all kinds of activities and treats. In the morning we invited our elders to plant a flower for Earth Day (coinciding with Spring Break Day). We even played some cornhole while we waited for our lunch, which was hamburgers and hotdogs along with lemonade. All day long there was great music. Some of the best moments were the impromptu boogie’n with our elders and stakeholders! Some of the treats that we enjoyed were shaved ice from the Sno Shack, delicious cotton candy made by our Chaplain, Derek and our HR Director, Nikki, and there was also freshly popped popcorn made by some very helpful volunteers.
There were so many other activities that our elders enjoyed like: digging in the sand for shells, a bluegrass band, visits with “Today’s Ms. Spring Break” and “1900’s Ms. Spring Break,” and also a duck pond with prizes! It was a terrific day with lots of sunshine and smiles and laughter.
